xtype: governance SaaS for ServiceNow

Situation

xtype builds a SaaS platform for ServiceNow governance: visibility, control and compliance for companies in highly regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare and manufacturing. A product like this needs a backend that handles events reliably, and a platform the team can use to ship quickly and safely.

Our role

agsolutions has been part of the development team since November 2023, working remotely from Vienna with a focus on backend and platform:

• Event-driven architecture with Confluent/Kafka and Avro schemas
• Microservices in Java and Node.js/NestJS
• Temporal workflows for long-running, fault-tolerant processes
• Platform & DevOps: Kubernetes on AWS, infrastructure as code with Pulumi, CI/CD
• Monorepo & developer tooling: introduced Nx and mise – a build system that only builds and tests what has changed, and a single toolchain so local machines and CI use the same versions

We work on the infrastructure the team has chosen – in this case, AWS.
